Neurotheology and neuromarketing the future

I recently reviewed Back to the Future, an iconic trilogy about a guy and his genius grandfather traveling to the future, past, and back. It’s interesting to see how people saw the future almost 30 years ago-hoverboards instead of skateboards, flying cars, romance!

Now the idea that there will be a lot of cyborgs in the future is becoming popular, thanks to cyberpunk 2077-the idea that we will not have enough power for running, vision and, of course, the brain. We will exchange our biological eyes for some kind of cyber visors with x-ray, dark vision and infrared vision. Sensors on our hands will measure the temperature of drinks and we will forget about the former difficulties associated with expensive medicines – implants will be available to almost everyone and directly accessible.

After two paragraphs of immersing you in utopian worlds of the future, I want to come down to earth and add a touch of realism.

I want to tell you about what is happening right now and what Exactly it is better not to close your eyes, dismissing it as nonsense.

You know the story of how Manhattan island, the historic center of new York city, was bought for $ 24 from local aborigines by capitalist Americans (Hello uncle SEM). This is a metaphor for my message. But this post is not about what kind of Americans are goats or well done.

Hierarchy is one of the properties of any human community, even the most democratic groups of people are still unconsciously distributed along the hierarchy, this is how our brain, or rather the frontal lobe, works – we are looking for a leader or become one.

I would like to give an example about the fact that the female chooses the most leading individual of the male-but this is also somewhat utopian nonsense. For example, some female grasshoppers choose not those who won the mating battle of males, but those who, on the contrary, avoided conflict. Remember, not all females choose winners – this is biology. Sometimes the low-profile one wins.

The area of land on which their ancestors lived, which is now estimated at hundreds of billions of dollars, was bought from our aborigines for just a few dollars.

Even then, these clever guys managed to get hold of it so much that they made more than one generation of their descendants rich.

Someone will say: “bad people won in this story!”, Yes, in my heart of hearts I agree with you. However, this story illustrates what is happening in the world today.

In recent decades, residents of the CIS countries have observed how after the collapse of the planned economy, a market economy began to come to the territory of our countries.

Like a machine gun against a slingshot, markets that used to live in stability for decades began to bend.

The planned economy created some peace, and you know what you’ll get if you just work. Once every five years, the meeting decided what the country would buy and sell for the next five years.

And then-BAM! THEY came to our territory! Those guys who are hungry for new markets, those whose spirit is tempered by years of competition and hunting, lean, fast and flexible, know in advance how to buy a client!

Where instead of the faded cover of “soda” is written in bright color ” Cola Cola!” and the tagline, the tagline, which was never heard of at all. Hello, Pelevin.

Over the past 20 years, we have seen a gradual takeover of all markets where we were not competent enough.

What I’m writing this for – depending on your worldview, you can expect morality and justice, or think that everything is as it should be. You may think that God has everything captured and ” Russia will rise from its knees!”, but everything always develops according to one rule – the most competent wins.

Sometimes competence is strength+skill, sometimes it is knowledge of the law and market rules. Sometimes, as in the case of my story about the collapse of a planned economy, competence means being able to respond to consumer demand and manage it.

Sometimes competence means fighting a 30-year battle for the most vibrant minds in the world, luring them out of other countries with tempting offers of ideal conditions.

Now we come to the main topic of my post.

Amazing processes are taking place in the world right now – the process of stupefying the masses and selective and pinpoint shooting of talents. The percentage of really smart children is low, but they are not at all what we used to think about a smart person.

Mendeleev said, ” knowledge without morality is a sword in the hands of a madman.”

So, get ready, world. They are coming. Students are freelancers who provide for their parents at the expense of minecraft servers. University students who lose interest in studying because of fast money in YouTube and streams. Rappers who fart into the microphone all over the country.

The crust was needed before, but now we need competence.

What will happen to the human society?

I won’t scream ILITA rules the world! No. It’s none of my business , I’ve already told you – I believe in the power of competence.

If you bought an island from a native for nothing, do you know something he doesn’t?

In my mind, the world of the future is ruled by corporations. They don’t just rule. They are dominant.

The closest comparison is the matrix, where people swim in pink slush.

Instead of goo, masterful knowledge of your brain.

We see how YouTube or social networks guess your preferences. And this IS just the beginning.

Pink room – your accounts in Tik-Tok

If you know something about how our brains work, you’ll understand that the reason we get hooked on certain foods is dopamine, the pleasure hormone.

If food corporations know this-add sugar to their products(who’s in the tank-watch the movie of the same name), then what do other companies do?

They can’t feed us sugar for likes, can they? Or for the posted post?

Or can they?

A little bit about how our brain produces dopamine. Dopamine is produced in the gland – this is a factory for the production of hormones. The signal gets to the gland from the pituitary gland – it’s like in the cartoon “puzzle” – the distribution center of signals to different factories. And before hitting the pituitary gland (which is like in the “puzzle”), the signal hits the hypothalamus.

Such a chain is obtained – hypothalamus-pituitary gland.

And only after all this cycle does our awareness of processes turn on. These experiments were closely studied by Benjamin Libet in the last century, there were disputes about the presence or absence of free will in humans. We won’t go into it, just know that in the process of receiving any information, you don’t control yourself for a certain number of moments – because your neural signals are running faster than you are aware of them.

We are constantly aware of ourselves “post factum”, and sometimes the delay is not moments, but hours and even months.

So that’s what the whole story is about

Why do the tick Tok and instagram algorithms give you content that you paid attention to? They assume that this content produces dopamine in you.

And they give you more so that you can spend more time on their product.

What do you think tik Tok would give you if he immediately knew what makes you produce dopamine? He’d do it right away! If it was white noise or colored rainbows to the sound of dolphins.

Now let’s imagine that the hypothalamus is a junction box that is NOT UNIQUE to each person, that there is an evolutionary way that our personality is a product of the neocortex, the cerebral cortex. And the hypothalamus is something given to us from birth. This is something that has remained virtually unchanged since 9 months and even after a massive stroke at 93.

That is, there are some types of hypothalamus that are characterized by the same reactions to the same stimuli.

Let’s call this the hypothalamic typology.

That there are types of people whose hypothalamuses respond equally to the same information impulses, which means that you can pre-determine what they will develop dopamine for.

Yes, you probably know a lot of pseudoscientific typologies, even widely known as MBTI, socionics, horoscope, human design.

However, none of them will be on a par with the one that allows you to create addiction from your content.

And we are waiting for it.

Perhaps today, some Bulat from Kazan, an unknown guy, accidentally brought out such a typology.

Perhaps today one of you will want to learn more about this guy and offer him to become partners, develop a neural network together, so that you can use the tails in social networks to build a hypothesis about what type of hypothalamus a particular subscriber of your business account belongs to.

Perhaps tomorrow it will be used everywhere. You should probably know how your hypothalamus works in practice right now, just to protect yourself.
