On December 28, 2020, CD Projekt Red released a teaser of the first expansion to Cyberpunk 2077. The studio also opened a separate section with DLC on the game’s website.
The first to notice this was a Reddit user under the nickname diegoonishi. Users have suggested that this DLC will contain previously removed before the release due to the lack of development of the game world, items and quests.
The developers of the game explained that the free add-on will be a separate branch from the central plot of the story of Night City. The first DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 will be released in early 2021.
Previously, users found in the game elements of an empty metro (monorails and even one station), which the developers planned to implement, but did not finish in the release. CD Projekt Red did not delete the already created parts of the metro in Cyberpunk 2077.
On December 10, CD Projekt Red revealed that 8 million users had pre-ordered Cyberpunk 2077. Then it became known that the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 on the PC was the largest in the history of computer game production. As of December 20, more than 13 million users have purchased the game.
Three weeks after the release, CD Projekt Red released three patches for the game. The first patch 1.04, which was released on December 11, a day after the release of the game, contained 27 fixes. The second patch 1.05 was released on December 19 and contained 61 fixes. The third patch for Cyberpunk 2077 contained only three fixes.
